Wedge Group Galvanizing new ‘State of the Art’ Galvanizing Plant at Sawtry, Cambs was officially opened by Lord Digby Jones of Birmingham on Friday 17th July 2009.

Invited guests at the official opening watched as Lord Jones unveiled a plaque - mounted on a ‘galvanized plate’ - and they then toured the new 30,000 sq ft galvanizing facility.
Wedge Groups’ Flag Ship Galvanizng Plant at Sawtry has now been operational for two months. During these two months there has been a steady increase in customers taking advantage of the benefits the new ‘State of the Art’ Galvanizing Plant can offer….. From 24hr turnarounds to a fettle free finished product all at competitive prices for todays demanding market place. The plants operation has also been enhanced with a significantly increased bath size.
The new bath size is 8.0 metres long by 1.4 metres wide by 3.3 metres deep.

After many years planning and 10 months construction East Anglian Galvanizing brand new state-of-the-art plant opens for business today.
Offering enchanced environmental & operational facilities through out steered towards the main emphasis of the business that of customer satisfaction. East Anglian can now offer 24 hour service, increase in the size of work that can be galvanized and intergrated with this a daily collection & delivery service within it’s market place.
Finishing touches are now being put in place in time for the opening on the 1st June 09.
Apart from the Enviromental, Quality and Turnaround improvemnts the other main asset of the new plant is the increased bath size, which feeds all of the above enchancements. The new bath size is …..tbc
May 1st saw the start of the count down to the opening of the new site
Operations are fully underway for the opening with customers open days being organized, new company literature being printed and of course the most important that very first order to be processed.
Some of the enhanced services to be made possible by the opening of the new site are:

Now all the plant & equipment have been installed the side of the building is now being cladded up for the final time.

At present we are still waiting for the new sites telephone/fax numbers to be released to us but as soon as they have been all customers/suppliers will be notified.
However, until we actually move to the new site which is now weeks rather than months away the existing numbers are the ones to use.
When we have an opening date we will produce a flyer detailing all the general services available, the bath capacity,contact details and the extra benifits a new state of the art plant will bring to the Galvanizing Industry
