First New Appointment
East Anglian Galvanizing of Peterborough which, in July, announced impressive plans for a brand new £6 million plant at Sawtry, has made the first of its extra staff appointments in line with the relocation.
Ryta Skirkowska has been appointed the company’s first Customer Service Administrator – a role designed to support and enhance the work of its existing sales team and also to ensure that all customers receive the very best quality service.
East Anglian Galvanizing’s General Manager Paul Bayford said: “Ryta has been working successfully for us as a temp and has already made a significant contribution to our sales operation. We are now delighted to be able to make this a permanent position in the light of our upcoming move to Sawtry next year.”
The new state-of-the-art galvanizing plant, currently under construction close to the A1 (junction 15), will be capable of ‘round the clock’ 24/7 operation. There will be further additional employment opportunities as a direct result of the move, which is scheduled for Spring 2009.
All East Anglian Galvanizing Ltd employees at the existing Peterborough site, including office-based administration staff, are being offered the opportunity to move with the company to the Sawtry plant.
Customers will see major benefits from the new site in terms of a considerably expanded galvanizing service, increased logistical efficiency and improved on-site product delivery and collection operations.
When East Anglian Galvanizing moves from its present location at Wareley Road near the centre of Peterborough, to Sawtry the service to its many local and regional customers will be completely continuous and seamless.
A major feature of the Sawtry plant will be its industry-leading green technology, including an integrated rainwater collection and storage system. This will enable large volumes of rainwater to be recycled into the galvanizing process, eliminate ‘run-off’ from the 5.5-acre site and minimize the use of mains water.
